We are looking for a Gaelic speaking researcher to join our children’s team in Pacific Quay producing short form content for CBeebies ALBA; someone who thrives on coming up with ideas for shortform children’s content and following these ideas through the production process.

The successful individual will demonstrate creativity and passion for the delivery of amazing content to our younger audiences and a working knowledge of how television production and studios operate in a safe manner in order to achieve this.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing ideas, researching content strands, sourcing contributors as well as working closely with onscreen talent in the studio and contribute to the weekly development and writing of scripts.

The successful candidate will work closely with the producer, assistant producers, production management team, crew, talent and contributors to deliver programmes of the highest quality and will demonstrate meticulous planning and organisational skills.

Fluent in spoken and written Gaelic, candidates will have a good knowledge and understanding of the Gaelic children’s audience, and an awareness of children’s output produced by the BBC and other broadcasters.  Candidates will have demonstrable experience or knowledge of working with talent and young children and the associated guidelines.  They will have a knowledge of and an interest in contemporary culture and entertainment particularly relevant to children.  Experience of television production and experience of working in a studio is desirable.

An up-to-date understanding of the BBC’s diverse audiences and their needs and expectations and use this to help shape creative and engaging output.

Are you the right candidate?

You are fluent in spoken and written Gaelic.

You have proven experience of working on entertaining children’s studio content and are able to work across the production process from development to delivery.

You have a good knowledge and understanding of the Gaelic children’s audience and an awareness of children’s output produced by the BBC and other broadcasters.

You have a knowledge of and an interest in contemporary culture and entertainment particularly relevant to Gaelic-speaking children.

You are in possession of a driving licence.
