We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and talented Production Manager to join our busy children’s team in the BBC Gaelic department.
Since last September Gaelic Children’s content has adopted the BBC Cbeebies and CBBC brands and our production team has been incredibly busy delivering the highest quality content to our audience.
Whilst Gaelic language skills are desired they are not essential.
Your main responsibilities of this role include professionally managing Gaelic Children’s continuous output. This will be from pre-production through to delivery using specialist production management skills, knowledge and experience.
You will work in partnership with editorial colleagues to mould and deliver outstanding, distinctive content by providing the ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.
You will be responsible for preparing, managing and monitoring production budgets for year-long continuous output and for forecasting and reporting progress in line with best practice.
A key part of this role will be to bring effective leadership to production management staff on the production including production co-ordinators and production management assistants.
Are you the right candidate?
You will have sound budgeting and financial management skills and have a flair for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders from a variety of disciplines and organisations.
You must have proven experience as a Production Manager with at least one PM credit.
Experience of monitoring and managing Health & Safety in both a studio environment and on location is vital attributes we are looking for in our successful candidate.
A good knowledge and understanding of the Gaelic children’s audience and an awareness of children’s output produced by the BBC and other broadcasters is required.
