These placements provide a taster experience of working within the BBC and broadcasting industry. It is aimed at individuals who want to work in the media and would like to find out more about the range of jobs potentially available. You’ll have the chance to see television and radio production first hand. You’ll spend time with those who produce and co-ordinate the content across TV, Radio and Online. You’ll learn from the people who provide support across all aspects of programme making and transmission.
The placement may involve spending time at outside broadcasts, studio recordings or in edit or graphic design suites and will give you a great overview of the various aspects of both television and radio production.

You don’t need a media qualification to apply. You just need to be able to show us that you’re passionate about Television and have a genuine desire to find out what the industry has to offer.

These placements are offered at BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, Stornoway. We’d prefer candidates who are fluent Gàidhlig speakers but we will also accept Gàidhlig learners. Successful candidates would typically spend their time shadowing members of the various Stornoway teams working on topical programmes, children’s, music and news.
