We are currently seeking applications for Gaelic Medium Education Assessment Content Manager within the Directorate for Learning based in Scotland. This is a fixed-term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.
National Standardised Assessments were introduced as part of the National Improvement Framework for Scottish Education. The Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA) have been available to schools since August 2017. The Measaidhean Coitcheann Nàiseanta airson Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig (MCNG) have been available to schools since December 2018.
For phase two of national standardised assessment delivery, the development of assessment content for the Gaelic Assessments is being brought in-house.
Working with the National Standardised Assessments Project team, an MCNG Content Manager is required to support the development of this work, collaborating with Gaelic policy colleagues, Education Scotland, key stakeholders and end users.
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

- Experience of teaching in the Gaelic Medium Education sector with proven positive impact including; a strong understanding of immersion, progression, assessment and emerging national developments which have an impact for Gaelic.
- Ability to coordinate, direct and support colleagues’ efforts towards delivering a shared goal within a defined timeline.
- Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, communicating and presenting effectively both formally and informally and demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills in Gaelic and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently and in teams, operating with impartiality, fairness and diplomacy and maintaining confidentiality.
