To make a leading contribution to the project: ‘Boosting Gaelic conversation between fluent native speakers’ (A’ misneachadh còmhradh Gàidhlig eadar dùthchasaich), working with Prof. Bernadette O’Rourke and Prof. Wilson McLeod (University of Edinburgh). Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in the area/s of sociolinguistic/anthropological research methods and data analysis relevant to the project. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this project as opportunities allow.
The project is funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig. The project will undertake an ethnographic study of one community in the Western Isles to build an understanding of patterns of language use amongst Gaelic-speakers.
