This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new Gaelic ELC provision in Perth and Kinross. The role is to provide Gaelic Medium child-centred nursery education which reflects and responds to individual needs and identity.

The post holder will provide additional support if required within the existing nursery provision or the GME primary provision.

You should hold an appropriate qualification e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People), as well as have the eligibility to register with SSSC.  Or, you must be willing to work towards obtaining the appropriate qualification and you can be appointed as a Play Assistant initially.

You should also have an appropriate level of spoken and written Gaelic Language.

This exciting opportunity will be ideal for a Gaelic-Speaking  Early Childhood Practitioner to maintain Gaelic as a living language and offer children opportunities to engage with the broader culture of Gaelic in Scotland. Applications will be considered for fluent Gaelic speakers who are willing to work to achieve the appropriate qualification.

You will also assist in the organisation and management of the service for the benefit of all children, families and the wider community. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as a team member who directly contributes to and supports colleagues in the development of high quality learning.

The role involves working within the large team to facilitate high quality learning experiences and improve outcomes for the children and families they serve.

The ability to deliver Early Learning and Childcare in Gaelic Language is essential and the ability to work in a team situation and have a flexible approach to working with young children and parents is required.
