Applications are invited for the post of Principal Assessor – National 5 Gaelic (Learners). The role is for the 2020 examination cycle onwards and will commence March 2020.

A Principal Assessor is responsible for ensuring all duties and tasks associated with externally set/assessed course assessments are undertaken within the conditions, timeframes and arrangements set by SQA.

Their primary role is to lead, support, motivate and work with a team of SQA appointees to ensure consistent application of national standards and to ensure the subject-specific integrity of their teams’ decision-making in relation to the externally set/assessed course assessment arrangements.

Applicants should currently be involved in the delivery and assessment of National 5 Gaelic (Learners). It may be beneficial to the applicant to have had writer, checker and or reviewer experience in Gaelic at any level.

Should an applicant require release from their employer, they should discuss this before making an application as the successful applicant will require up to 10 days release per full session. This could be negotiable.
