Job Introduction

As part of a highly creative production team you will identify, research and develop ideas and content, often to tight deadlines, for BBC Radio nan Gàidheal’s radio series for Gaelic learners, Beag air Bheag. You will contribute to the delivery of content and provide support on Beag air Bheag and other Radio nan Gàidheal output as required.

You will to be fluent in Gaelic, both spoken and written, have experience of sourcing suitable contributors and relevant clips from Radio nan Gàidheal’s archive, contribute to the scripting process, have experience of using radio recording devices,  and the BBC’s audio systems  Dira and VCS.  An interest in Gaelic learning and a driving licence is essential.

Main Responsibilities

You will be required to assist in the planning and production of content for Gaelic learners and general programmes. You will research accurately when producing original content in keeping with editorial brief, using a wide range of sources and reference material in-keeping with audience needs and expectations & adhering to known BBC policies & guidelines.

You will also be required to set up and maintain information systems for optimal output as well as suggest, develop and research appropriate ideas and present these to the producer/line manager for feedback and review.
