We need someone who has the energy to develop existing networks to promote our wide range of books extensively, together with competent data administrator skills. In our small but busy publishing house in Stornoway, you will maintain web-based title management systems alongside our communications (website, social media, press releases etc) and a range of other areas of marketing. Above all, you will be passionate and creative in order to promote our range of Gaelic, English and bilingual publications as widely as possible.

This is a rare opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, learn about publishing and develop a range of skills while working in a creative industry. Gaelic language skills are essential.

Hours: Negotiable (up to full-time) with flexibility to suit the successful applicant and the needs of Acair

Salary: Between £25K-£27K per annum (pro-rata), dependent on skills and experience

Location: An Tosgan, Seaforth Road, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis (with some flexibility)

Objectives of the role

●      Market Acair books widely and promote our titles through digital and other media channels

●      Plan events and marketing campaigns

●      Explore potential new markets

●      Be creative and proactive to help increase sales

●      Create engaging content to promote products and events

●      Explore product diversification opportunities

●      Analyse data and track sales

●      Work with various administrative IT systems

●      Pick, pack and process customer orders and assist the Finance Officer with invoicing functions

●      Develop, nurture and sustain relationships with partners, customers and the media

●      Undertake administration of stock levels

●      Support the team by helping with routine reception duties

●      Maintain detailed and accurate records in all areas of work

●      Carry out any other relevant duties and responsibilities which may be necessary to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Acair’s functions and activities.
